Using the Bell Smart Home app and web portal

How to access the web portal

NOTE: The web portal is not available for customers with an AlarmForce panel.

With Security and Automation interactive services, it’s easy to view and manage your alarm system through our website from anywhere in the world.

Prerequisites:

  • Security and Automation interactive services
  • A computer with the latest version of Adobe Flash

To access the web portal:

  1. Visit https://business.bell.ca/shop/small-business/security-automation
  2. Click Account login.
  3. Select Security and Automation.
  4. Enter your login name and password and click Log in.

I forgot my login name or password

NOTE: The web portal is not available for customers with an AlarmForce panel.

If you’ve forgotten your login name or password, you can follow the steps below to retrieve them.
To retrieve your password:

  1. Visit https://business.bell.ca/shop/small-business/security-automation
  2. Click Account login.
  3. Select Security and Automation.
  4. Click Login help?
  5. Enter your login name and click Submit.
  6. You’ll receive an email with a link to reset your password.
  7. Click the Change password link.
  8. Answer the security question.
  9. Enter a new password and confirm it.
  10. Click UPDATE.

To retrieve your login name:

  1. Visit https://business.bell.ca/shop/small-business/security-automation
  2. Click Account login.
  3. Select Security and Automation.
  4. Click Login help?
  5. Click Forgot Login name?
  6. Enter your email address and click Submit.
You’ll receive an email with your login name. If your email is associated with more than one account, you’ll receive the login names for each account.

 

Get the Android app

With Security and Automation interactive services, it’s easy to view and manage your alarm system through our mobile app.
You’ll need:

  • Security and Automation interactive services
  • A device running Android OS 4.1 or higher

Get the app now
To download the app:

  1. Open the app drawer of your device.
  2. Touch the Play Store icon.
  3. Touch the search field at the top.
  4. Enter Bell Security and Automation.
  5. From the search results, select the Bell Security and Automation app.
  6. Touch INSTALL.
  7. Touch Open to open the app.

  • A device running iOS 9.0 or higher

    Get the app now
    To download the app:

    1. Open the App Store.
    2. Touch the search field.
    3. Enter Bell Security and Automation.
    4. Touch the Free button.
    5. Touch Install App.
    6. Enter your iTunes password if prompted.
    7. Touch OPEN.

With Bell Security and Automation interactive services, you have the option to set notifications by email, SMS and push for the events that matter to you.

To set notifications from your computer:

  1. Visit https://business.bell.ca/shop/small-business/security-automation
  2. Click Account login.
  3. Select Bell Security and Automation.
  4. Enter your login name and password and click Log in.
  5. On the left menu, click the Notifications button.
  6. Click NEW NOTIFICATION on the top right.
  7. Select the type of event you wish to receive a notification for. For example, selecting “Arming event” will notify you every time the system is armed or disarmed.
  8. Select how you want this notification to occur. For “Arming event”, you can choose to be notified when a user disarms or arms (stay or away) the system. You can also choose whether you want this notification at all times or only between specific times.
  9. Click ADD RECIPIENT.
  10. Select a user from the list or click NEW to add one.
  11. Click CLOSE to close the address book.
  12. Click SAVE to apply the notification rule.

To set notifications from your smartphone:

  1. Open the Bell Security and Automation app.
  2. Touch the menu button on the top left of the screen (3 horizontal lines).
  3. Touch Notifications.
  4. Touch Manage notifications.
  5. Touch Add on the top right of the page.
  6. Touch Create your own.
  7. Select the type of event you wish to receive a notification for. For example, selecting “Arming event” will notify you every time the system is armed or disarmed.
  8. Select how you want this notification to occur. For “Arming event”, you can choose to be notified when a user disarms or arms (stay or away) the system. You can also choose whether you want this notification at all times or only between specific times.
  9. Touch Add recipients.
  10. Select a user from the list. A check mark appears beside the contact. If the user is not on the list, touch Add contact and fill in the contact information.
  11. Touch Close.
  12. Touch Save to apply the new notification rule.

To set video notifications :

  1. Visit https://business.bell.ca/shop/small-business/security-automation
  2. Click Account login.
  3. Select Bell Security and Automation.
  4. Enter your login name and password and click Log in.
  5. On the left menu, click the Video button.
  6. Click Recording schedules.
  7. Click the pencil icon beside the recording schedule you wish to add a notification for.
  8. Click ADD RECIPIENT.
  9. Select a user from the list or click NEW to add one.
  10. Click CLOSE to close the address book.
  11. Click SAVE SCHEDULE to apply the notification rule.

**Please note: for doorbell cameras, it’s possible to set recipients from either the Notifications tab or the Recording schedule tab

How do I update my verbal passcode?

To update your verbal passcode from a computer:

  1. Visit https://business.bell.ca/shop/small-business/security-automation
  2. Click Account login.
  3. Select Security and Automation.
  4. Enter your login name and password and click Log in.
  5. On the left menu, click the Settings button.
  6. Click Monitoring station.
  7. Under the Passcode section, enter your secret passcode and confirm it.
  8. Read the disclaimer and check off the box.
  9. Click UPDATE.

To update your verbal passcode from the app:

  1. Open the Security and Automation app.
  2. Touch the menu button on the top left of the screen (3 horizontal lines).
  3. Touch Monitoring settings.
  4. Touch Update verbal passcode..
  5. Enter the new verbal passcode and confirm it.
  6. Touch the check mark on the top right.

Scenes let you control actions on multiple smart home devices at once. For example, you could create a scene called Bedtime that locks your doors and turns out the lights.

You can create scenes to control the following compatible smart home devices:

  • Door locks
  • Garage doors
  • Lights
  • Security systems
  • Thermostats

Note: you can’t currently create scheduled scenes.

Use the app to create a scene

  1. Log in to the Bell Smart Home app.
  2. Touch the menu icon menu.
  3. Select Scenes.
  4. Touch the plus icon plus .
  5. In the Scene Name field, enter a name for the scene.
  6. Touch the icon symbol to change the icon and colour for your scene.
  7. In Devices, touch Add +.
  8. Select the device the scene will control.
  9. Choose which action should be performed.
  10. Touch Save.

To edit a scene

  1. Log in to the Bell Smart Home app.
  2. Touch the menu icon menu.
  3. Select Scenes.
  4. Touch the scene.
  5. Touch Edit.
  6. Edit the scene as desired.
  7. Touch Save.

Use the web portal to create a scene

  1. Log in to bell.ca/securitylogin
  2. Select Automation on the left.
  3. At the top of the page, select Scenes
  4. Select New Scene.
  5. In the Scene Namefield, enter a name for the scene.  
  6. Select the icon symbol to change the icon and colour for your scene. 
  7. Select the device the scene will control. 
  8. Choose which action should be performed.
  9. Select Save.

To edit a scene

  1. Log in to bell.ca/securitylogin
  2. Select Automation on the left.
  3. At the top of the page, select Scenes
  4. Select the edit iconedit next to the name of the scene.
  5. Edit the scene as desired.
  6. Select Save.
