Getting started with Bell Global IoT

1. Visit https://manager.globaliot.bell.ca
2. Enter your username and password, then click Log in

Your username is the e-mail that your administrator added to the user list. A welcome email containing a temporary password was sent. To reset your password, click on the Forgot password?

1. Step 1: Insert your SIM
   1. Choose your Global IoT SIM format: 2FF, 3FF or 4FF.
   2. Insert the SIM into your device.
2. Step 2: Set up your connection
   1. Turn on your device. The SIM will automatically connect to the available network.
   2. Set the APN mnet.bell.ca.1nce to establish a data connection.
   3. Use the latest firmware version on your device.
3. Step 3: Log in to the Global IoT Manager
   1. Access the management platform manager.globaliot.bell.ca to configure your settings.
   2. Log in using your SIM order email and password.
   3. Set up your Global IoT Manager account using the instructions emailed after placing your order.

VPN is supported; IPSec must be purchased separately as an optional service.

Data connectivity on our self-serve platform will be via the shared default APN "mnet.bell.ca.1nce," and a Private APN can be provided via our assisted self-serve solution.

For data transmission in the Bell and its roaming partners’ network, the respective security mechanisms of the various mobile radio standards are applied. Data transmission via the internet to the IoT application server can be secured by a VPN connection. Bell offers the OpenVPN client already included in the plan.

Protocols supported include UDP, CoAP, LwM2M, AWS, and HTTPS webhooks, among others.

Data is measured with 1 kB accuracy, including all protocol overhead, in both uplink and downlink directions.

Yes, Bell’s Global IoT provides a REST API. Full developer documentation is in the Developer Hub.

No, there is no direct device-to-device SMS. SMS forwarding can be configured through the server.

Data Streams can be set up in the Global IoT Manager to push Event and Usage data via REST API calls to your servers or cloud platforms.

You can change your operating system settings for the VPN in the Global IoT Manager.

VPN supports secure encrypted connections optionally with IPSec; SMS support is limited to device wake-up and notification messages.

Yes, static IP assignment and IP spaces can be configured for SIM cards as an optional service.

Steering is not currently available, but will be shortly.

Yes, all uplink and downlink data including protocol overhead are deducted from the included volume.
