I am not receiving PTT calls, presence updates or contact list updates on my Android 4.0 device

The Android operating system allows users to restrict background data on a per-app basis. Doing this for Bell Push to Talk (PTT) will disconnect the application from the network, which blocks incoming calls, presence updates and contact list updates.

To ensure background data is not restricted for the PTT application:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Data Usage.
  3. Tap Push-to-Talk.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the data profile and ensure the Restrict Background Data checkbox is not selected.
