LTE Advanced, the world’s fastest mobile technology

Bell's LTE network now reaches over 32 million Canadians from Coast to Coast and we continue to invest in our networks.

In February 2015, we launched LTE Advanced, the world’s fastest most advanced wireless technology, in select communities in Canada. It enabled customers with compatible devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 to access theoretical peak download speeds of 260 (expected average download speeds 18 Mbps – 74 Mbps). And in August 2015 we deployed the next generation of LTE Advanced in select communities1 enabling speeds of up to 335 Mbps (expected average download speeds of 25-100 Mbps). Bell customers with the Samsung Galaxy S6+ are the first in North America to benefit from the very fastest LTE Advanced speeds available. This means you’ll be able to browse web pages and download large files faster, stream video more steadily and play graphic-intense multiplayer games.

1 Communities include: Downtown Toronto, GTA, Downtown Halifax, Upper Hamilton, South Oakville, Flemming College, Eagles Glen Golf course, Prince Edward Island and St. John's, Newfoundland.

A stronger LTE signal in more places across Canada.

We’ve added cell towers and made improvements in in-building coverage to give customers a better, stronger, more reliable signal in more places across Canada. Backed by the latest network infrastructure technology, Bell also gives you access to a network offering the most cell towers connected by fibre.

Building, maintaining and continually enhancing the entire Bell network takes hard work and dedication. 7500 employees strong, Bell only hires the most passionate and professional engineers to manage and support our network, all with the shared goal of providing Canadians with the absolute best, most advanced mobile experience and proving that mobility networks are not created equal. Last year alone, our network team drove over 1.4 million kilometres optimizing the network. That’s equivalent to driving from Halifax to Vancouver 300 times!

The largest Wi-Fi network across Canada.

With over 4000 hotspots across Canada, Bell is proud to offer all mobile users the largest free Wi-Fi coast-to-coast network. You can find a Bell hotspot from coast-to-coast at participating McDonald’s, Chapters Indigo and most recently, Tim Hortons. Enjoy.
