Checking pod connection quality

The Bell Business Wi-Fi app gives each of your pods a connection quality rating. Connection quality monitors numerous Wi-Fi metrics to evaluate the Wi-Fi connection to each pod and let you easily see when there is a problem. Your pods work as a team – if one pod has poor connection quality, any other pods connected to it will be affected. Ensure all pods have excellent connection quality for the best performance.

To view the connection quality of your pods:

  1. Open the Bell Business Wi-Fi app and log in with your Business Self serve email and password.
  2. From the navigation bar at the bottom of the home screen, touch the Network icon on the far right side.
  3. Select the pod you wish to troubleshoot. The connection quality rating will appear under the pod name, along with what channel it’s on and the pod or modem it’s connected to.

    • Excellent – Your pod has excellent connection to your network. All applications should run perfectly.
    • Good – Your pod’s connection to the network is acceptable. All applications should run without any major impairments. Some buffering may occur for high-speed applications like 4K video streaming.
    • Fair – Your connection is not ideal for real-time applications or high throughput applications, like 4K video streaming. Try moving your pod closer to your modem or away from anything that might be causing interference.
    • Poor – Your pod is not able to communicate well with the network. It may be too far from your modem or interference may exist in its current location. Real-time applications such as video calling or streaming may suffer. Try moving your pod closer to your modem or away from anything that might be causing interference.

Relocating your pods

You can relocate your pods at any time by simply moving them to another power outlet inside your business. Remember that after you unplug a pod, it takes up to 24 hours for it to optimize and give you the best performance.
