Using Wi-Fi on my Giga Hub modem

How to configure the primary Wi-Fi network on my Giga Hub modem

Devices connected to the primary Wi-Fi network can connect to the Internet as well as share files with other devices and access the network settings. To find and manage your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password, you can use the Bell Business Wi-Fi app or you can log in and access modem settings.

About the Secure and Employee zones in the Bell Business Wi-Fi app:

The Bell Business Wi-Fi app lets you create three separate Wi-Fi SSID zones (Secure, Employee and Guest) to add an extra layer of protection for your sensitive devices. Each SSID zone can have a unique password so you don’t have to give private information to guests. Get help to configure your Guest zone.

Secure zone

  • Access level: Connect to Internet and access other devices in this zone over the local network. Devices are inaccessible from the other zones by default.
  • Meant for devices that require the most protection, such as point-of-sale (POS) devices, security cameras, IoT devices, network servers or any other business infrastructure that requires controlled access. All Ethernet-connected devices are automatically placed into this zone.

Employee zone

  • Access level: Connect to Internet and access other devices in this zone over the local network. Devices are inaccessible from the other zones by default.
  • Meant for employee devices (phones, laptops) and shared devices such as printers and smart speakers.
  • Each employee can have their own profile with assigned devices and customizable local network access.

The SSID zones will be automatically created when you log in to the Bell Business Wi-Fi app for the first time.

To edit the names and passwords of the Secure and Employee SSID zones:

  1. Open the Bell Business Wi-Fi app and log in with your Business Self serve email and password.
  2. Touch the settings gear icon on the top right of the page.
  3. Select the zone you wish to edit.
  4. To change your network name, touch the pencil icon. Enter the new name and touch Apply.
  5. To change your password, touch the three stacked dots (â‹®) and touch Edit. Enter the new password and touch Apply.
  6. Note: Passwords must be 8 to 64 characters in length. Changing your network (SSID) name or password may disconnect any devices currently on your network.

To configure the primary Wi-Fi network in the modem settings:

  1. Open your web browser and visit bell.ca/mymodem or 192.168.2.1.
  2. Click on Manage my Wi-Fi.
  3. If prompted, enter the administrator password.

Unless you’ve changed it, the password is the serial number located on the sticker on the back of the modem.

  4. Under the Primary Wi-Fi network heading, enter a network name (SSID) and password of your choosing.
  5. Click Save.
